CyberPatriot Completes Round 2 of CyberPatriot IX
This year, a record-breaking 4,404 teams competed in CyberPatriot IX, sparking 30 percent growth in the competition since last season. Round 2 of the competition was held this month from December 9-11, 2016 and teams from around the world competed in the intense competition. During this round, students were tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within a set of virtual images that represent operating systems. After Round 2 high school-level teams are placed into either the silver, gold or platinum-level tiers based on their scores in the first two rounds. Next month, teams will compete for state honors in their tiers during the State Round held January 13-15, 2017. Round 2 also determines which teams will be eligible to participate in the National Finals Competition, held in April 2017 in Baltimore, MD.
