Note from the President
As summer draws to a close I hope all of you have had the opportunity to rest and relax. The staff and volunteers at AFA have been busy planning for our two big events this Fall, AFA’s National Convention and Air, Space & Cyber Conference and the Air Force Memorial’s 10th Anniversary.
It’s hard to believe that in just over two weeks our Convention will be kicking off. We have a busy weekend planned for our delegates. This will be our Chairman Scott Van Cleef’s final Convention of his tenure. Scott has done a wonderful job over the last two years making difficult decisions in the best interests of AFA. Scott and I spoke on a regular basis since I joined AFA and I truly believe he is leaving AFA in better hands than when he took over the reins. During Convention, AFA’s National Delegates will vote to elect a new Chairman of the Board, Vice Chairman for Field Operations, National Director at Large, and Central Area National Director. A full agenda of the activities for delegates and spouses can be found here.
Following Convention our annual Air, Space & Cyber Conference immediately kicks off, with a great deal of highlights to come. Our agenda for the conference is better than ever and there will be a ton of events for you to enjoy.
I am especially excited about our technology exposition this year. We have 112 companies exhibiting and this will be our largest technology exposition in many years. We also have a superb lineup of speakers, with 94 of the best and brightest presenters ready to provide their insights on a variety of intriguing discussions.
Another important event, I am very excited about, is quickly approaching. On October 14th, the Air Force Memorial will celebrate its 10th Anniversary since it was dedicated to the American public. We encourage all of you to join us for a special celebration at the memorial that will feature special guests and a heritage flyover.
I am looking forward to the next six weeks as AFA hosts these special events and milestones. I look forward to seeing you!
